Key Responsibilities- Respond to Emergency Calls: Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for medical assistance, using your knowledge and skills to assess patients' conditions and provide appropriate care.
- Assess Patient Conditions: Assess patients' conditions and determine the best course of treatment, using your knowledge of medical protocols and procedures.
- Provide Patient Care: Provide first-aid treatment and/or advanced level life support to patients, using your skills and knowledge to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Communicate with Patients and Colleagues: Clearly explain procedures to patients, give orders, and relay information to others, using your strong communication skills to ensure effective teamwork.
- Transport Patients Safely: Transport patients safely in an ambulance, using your knowledge of safe driving practices and emergency procedures.
- Document Patient Care: Document medical care given to patients in a prompt and effective manner, using your knowledge of medical records and documentation procedures.
- Inventory and Maintain Equipment: Inventory, replace, and clean supplies and equipment after use, using your attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
- EMT License: Possess a valid EMT license, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services.
- Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Teamwork and Adaptability: Possess the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and job duties.
- Physical Demands: Possess the physical ability to sit, bend, and stand for extended periods of time, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs from ground to waist level.
