Job Title: Instructor/Activity Specialist - Basketball

Join our team at Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation as an Instructor/Activity Specialist - Basketball. We are seeking a qualified individual to lead our basketball program for youth in grades K-8.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced instructor to design and implement a holistic, engaging, and quality school curriculum in basketball. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field and 2 years of college or teaching experience. Experience working in a recreational or after-school setting is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive basketball curriculum for youth in grades K-8.
  • Conduct evaluations of student growth and progress in content area.
  • Attend meetings as requested and conduct yourself as a representative of the Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation.
  • Other assignments as requested.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or formal training in the content area/discipline of focus.
  • 2 years of college or teaching experience.
  • Experience working in a recreational or after-school setting.
  • Candidates must be enthusiastic and dedicated to the program's enrichment/youth development goals.
  • All applicants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 at time of submission.
Benefits:
  • $30.00 - $40.00 per hour based on educational and experience level.

  • All part-time employees are eligible to participate in the agency's 403b Tax Deferred Retirement Investment Plan.
  • CHLDC also follows the New York City Earned Sick Time Act.
