Job Title: Behavior Technician

University Pediatricians Autism Center (UPAC) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with autism.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic individual to work one-on-one with children diagnosed with autism. The successful candidate will utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to create a fun and safe learning environment. Responsibilities:
  • Work one-on-one with a child diagnosed with autism, utilizing ABA strategies to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Present frequent learning opportunities that include language and communication, social skills, school readiness, behavior management, play, and leisure skills.
  • Collect accurate data and report to a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Work in a team environment with open communication and participate in meetings for both the client and staff.
  • Complete all required clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Clean and maintain the client rooms and the classroom.
  • Reliable transportation and attendance are essential.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including professional interactions with parents, clients, and coworkers.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think creatively about teaching skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
Working Conditions:

Providing physical care, support, guidance, and supervision of daily activities consistent with the treatment plan and ABA programming. Must be physically and mentally flexible as things are constantly changing in this workplace. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, sit and stand for long periods, run for short durations, and move between these actions readily. Maintain a safe therapeutic environment for the client and their family. Assisting with physical management of clients, including lifting and supporting clients ages 0-21 who have challenging and sometimes severe problem behavior.
