Key Responsibilities:
  • Nutritional Evaluation:
    Conduct thorough nutritional evaluations for patients, taking into account their medical history, laboratory results, and dietary habits. Identify individual nutritional requirements and possible dietary limitations.
  • Care Strategy Development:
    Create and implement tailored nutrition care strategies to meet specific health challenges and dietary objectives. Assess and track the success of nutrition interventions, making necessary modifications.
  • Patient Education and Guidance:
    Inform patients and their families about nutritional concepts, healthy eating practices, and dietary adjustments for managing health issues. Provide practical tips and strategies for healthier food selections. Facilitate group educational sessions and workshops on nutrition-related subjects.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    Work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to incorporate nutritional care into comprehensive patient treatment plans. Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions to review patient progress and adjust care strategies as needed. Ensure effective communication with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team to promote understanding and adherence to dietary recommendations.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    Maintain precise and comprehensive patient records, including evaluations, care strategies, and progress notes. Ensure that documentation aligns with regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Quality Improvement and Research:
    Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of nutritional care services. Stay updated with research and advancements in nutrition and dietetics. Contribute to the formulation of nutrition-related policies, procedures, and educational resources.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised dietetic internship program. A Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). State licensure or certification as required.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clinical nutrition or a healthcare environment is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
