About the Role

At UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Great Lakes, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and a supportive work environment. As a Patient Care Technician - Med Surg Nights, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform various clinical and non-clinical tasks as delegated by the supervising nurse in the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with movement and placement, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Aid patients with personal care and activities of daily living, promoting independence and dignity.
• Report any changes or findings in patient condition to the nursing staff, documenting necessary records.
• Maintain patient rooms in a clean and orderly state, ensuring medical equipment is in good working order.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
• One or more of the following certifications are preferred: Emergency Medical Tech, Practical/Vocational Nurse, Nurse Aide, or Nursing student with completed medical surgical nursing coursework.

Work Environment
