Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist plays a crucial role in assessing and delivering therapy services tailored to each student's needs, ensuring compliance with the care plan established in collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts thorough evaluations and ongoing assessments of students to identify rehabilitation requirements, collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to adjust care plans as necessary.
2. Engages in the development of individualized care plans alongside physicians and other healthcare team members.
3. When necessary, performs comprehensive initial assessments of students and their families to ascertain physical needs, documenting a complete medical history.
4. Evaluates therapeutic and rehabilitative progress, assisting physicians in determining functional status.
5. Assesses muscle strength, mobility, gait, and range of motion (ROM) to inform treatment.
6. Manages post-surgical care by removing staples or sutures and monitoring incision sites.
7. Designs and implements physical therapy treatment plans based on individual assessments.
8. Educates students, families, and caregivers on the use and maintenance of therapeutic devices.
9. Identifies priority areas for physical therapy intervention.
10. Communicates student responses to treatment and any changes in condition to relevant healthcare personnel.
11. Initiates and guides physical therapy programs, providing instruction and support to families and caregivers regarding therapy objectives.
12. Trains students in the use of prosthetic and assistive devices, ensuring proper equipment functionality.
13. Maintains and cleans therapy equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
14. Prepares and submits clinical documentation reflecting progress and treatment outcomes.
15. Participates in peer consultations and contributes to quarterly medical record reviews.
16. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive care delivery aligned with the established care plan.
17. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations governing professional practice and standards.

Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of professional experience in Physical Therapy.
- Knowledge of and compliance with relevant professional standards.
- Completion of competency programs as required.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
