We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Leawood, Kansas. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing law enforcement and public safety services to our community, enforcing state and local laws, and engaging with the public to build trust and confidence.

• Enforce federal, state, and local laws, including traffic ordinances, and investigate crimes using established practices and procedures.
• Participate in preventive, proactive patrol by vehicle, bicycle, and on foot, including surveillance of high-crime areas and house watches.
• Investigate vehicular crashes, administer first aid, and coordinate emergency medical personnel as needed.
• Assist in the investigation of missing persons, civil matters, and noise disturbances, and retrieve pertinent information from emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives and programs sponsored or facilitated by the police department.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must successfully obtain and retain certification as a Kansas Law Enforcement Officer.
• Must successfully complete a Leawood Police Department Officer Training Program.
• Must maintain an acceptable discipline, accident, and safety record.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

• Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $94,478.40 per year.
• Merit-based pay increases up to 5% annually.
• Time In Service Bonus: 5% of annual salary every three years.
• Academy tuition reimbursement up to $7,000 for certified police officer applicants.
