Position Overview

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a dedicated

***Registered Nurse - Cardiac Rehabilitation (In/Out Patient)***

This is a full-time role with a Monday to Friday schedule during daytime hours.

No on-call duties, weekends, or holidays required.

***Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus.***

Job Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • New Hire Education Requirement: Newly hired RNs without a BSN must commit to enrolling in an accredited RN to BSN program within 24 months of employment and complete their BSN within 5 years.
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid RN license.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with cardiac rhythm identification.
  • Certifications: BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire; ACLS certification is required within one year.
  • Additional Requirements: Must meet and maintain specialty-specific requirements; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within one year; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one year; Oncology Care - ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within six months; Women's Care - NRP within six months; Inpatient Pediatrics - PALS within six months.

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for delivering a competent level of nursing care, employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN is expected to uphold the standards of professional performance, including ethics, culturally competent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource utilization, and environmental health.
