Job Description

Walden University, a member of Adtalem Global Education, seeks a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach in the field of Psychology. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, engaging with students, and contributing to the academic community.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in Psychology, utilizing the Blackboard platform and asynchronous discussion boards.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum, ensuring alignment with Walden University's standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Engage with students through synchronous sessions, grading assignments, and providing timely feedback.
  • Participate in doctoral dissertation committees and mentor students in their research endeavors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement academic programs.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field of Psychology.
  • Three to five years of teaching experience at the degree level of the program.
  • Experience with online or technology-enabled instruction, student research mentoring, and assessment administration.
  • Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of adult students in a distance learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distance learning and willingness to travel for face-to-face instruction.
  • Leadership, communication, team, and human relations skills.
Compensation

Graduate course instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per quarter or semester, depending on course type and length. Undergraduate course instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on course type and length.

Walden University offers additional opportunities for contributing faculty members, including dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions, research reviewing, and dissertation and doctoral study mentoring.
