CoreCivic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Detention Officer to join our team. As a Senior Detention Officer, you will play a critical role in the supervision of administrative and operational security activities in a detention facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Detention Officers and inmates/residents on the shift, ensuring the performance of their duties and evaluating their performance in accordance with facility and corporate policy.
  • Conduct regular inspections of housing and general use areas to ensure compliance with security, health, safety, sanitation, and welfare standards.
  • Assist in supervising the internal and external security of the facility, including routine inspections of posts to ensure personnel alertness and security maintenance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in a criminal justice field, preferably with one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Completion of basic pre-service officer training and, where applicable, a non-commissioned security officer license by the state of employment.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years of age.
