Position Overview

Bridgeway is seeking dedicated professionals to serve as Life Skills Coaches.

The primary responsibility of the Life Skills Coach is to assist individuals with developmental, intellectual, and other disabilities in making informed choices about their lives and actively participating in their communities. This role emphasizes encouraging clients to discover their aspirations, enhance their life skills, and navigate their personal journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster independence: Encourage individuals to thrive in a self-sufficient environment.
  • Provide training: Deliver on-site job training and support services, implement service plans, advocate for clients, and assist with transportation as necessary.
  • Attend to personal care: Support clients with their personal care needs, including hygiene, grooming, and other daily activities.
  • Maintain communication: Ensure clear, concise, and honest communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Document progress: Complete progress notes, goal reports, and other clinical documentation by established deadlines.
  • Address medical needs: Be vigilant and responsive to medical emergencies and health concerns.
  • Enhance life skills: Assist in developing cognitive, emotional, and functional abilities to positively impact clients' lives.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or similar roles is advantageous.

Successful candidates must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification post-hire, as well as complete the Direct Support Person (DSP) credential and Medication training program. If applicable, maintaining license requirements is essential. Employment is contingent upon passing all required background checks.
