Position Summary
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5am - 3pm
The role involves operating various conventional automatic and manual metalworking machinery, including but not limited to countersinks, presses, saws, hole punches, drills, grinders, and gang mills. The primary responsibility is to execute standardized machining processes on manufactured products such as Roton hinges or Threshold/Weather-Stripping items.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and routing sheets to ascertain material needs and operational sequence.
- Align workpieces using stops, blocks, or pins, and engage machinery to carry out tasks.
- Operate machinery to validate setups and produce pilot workpieces for quality inspection; utilize measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, tape measures, and templates to assess dimensions.
- Transfer and organize workpieces between stations.
- Maintain and lubricate machinery and tools.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols.
- Conduct quality assurance checks.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience: Minimum of six months in a Machine Operator role or similar experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in reading and writing English, understanding verbal and written instructions, and performing basic arithmetic operations. Familiarity with adjustable measuring instruments is essential.
Physical Requirements: The position demands physical activities typical of this role, including standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing. The ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to 60 pounds occasionally and 1 to 5 pounds continuously is required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Maintaining alertness while executing job duties is crucial.
Equipment Used: The role may involve the use of various tools and equipment, including metalworking machines, tape measures, height gauges, calipers, templates, and dies.
