We are seeking a qualified Medical Imaging Specialist who meets the following essential criteria:
The candidate must possess a valid license or a temporary permit issued by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Radiologic Technology. Preference will be given to those who are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or are eligible for registry.
Additionally, a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Medical Imaging Specialist will conduct various imaging procedures including general radiographs, portable examinations, fluoroscopic studies, ultrasound, mammography, and computed tomography (C.A.T. scans), which involves administering both oral and intravenous contrast materials. Adherence to established protocols and safety measures is essential to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety.
- Timely and accurate documentation in the patient's electronic medical records and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is a critical responsibility.
- Clerical tasks such as patient registration, scanning documents into PACS, managing exam submissions from the Computerized Reader (CR), and verifying exams sent to PACS will also be part of the role.
- The specialist will assist in transporting patients as necessary between departments, including emergency, medical-surgical, and intensive care units, while clearly explaining procedures to alleviate patient concerns.
- Compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and the radiology orientation materials provided during onboarding is mandatory.
- Flexibility in work schedules is required to meet the needs of the department.
