Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Perishable Retail Buyer to join our team at Frazier Farms Market. As a key member of our grocery team, you will be responsible for purchasing and managing perishable products to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional managers to develop and implement effective inventory management strategies.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate pricing and department margins to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Source and procure high-quality perishable products through efficient buying procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing and product offerings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate product orders to maintain high inventory turnover.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and rotation to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain accurate department signage and pricing, and build displays based on movement, promotions, profitability, value, and regional guidance.
  • Participate actively in regional sales promotions and educate department managers on new products.
  • Follow department procedures for product preparation, storage, rotation, and stocking.
  • Maintain and monitor department waste, spoilage, and compliance logs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the grocery field, preferably within a natural foods grocery store.
  • 1+ years of experience in buying or merchandising with a focus on perishable products.
  • Demonstrated success in building vendor relationships and securing deals.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
