About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Technical and Professional Communication to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of technical and professional communication, as well as conducting research and contributing to the development of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in technical and professional communication, including writing, design, and communication theory
  • Develop and implement curriculum in technical and professional communication
  • Conduct research in technical and professional communication, with a focus on global/transnational communication and rhetoric, diversity, social advocacy, or social justice
  • Contribute to the development of our undergraduate and graduate programs in technical and professional communication
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field, such as technical and professional communication, rhetoric, or English
  • Experience teaching and mentoring students in technical and professional communication
  • Strong research and publication record in technical and professional communication
  • Ability to contribute to the development of our programs and curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge of global/transnational communication and rhetoric, diversity, social advocacy, or social justice
  • Ability to teach and mentor students from diverse backgrounds
