As the largest healthcare facility in Northeast New York State, Albany Medical Center is committed to enhancing health outcomes through excellence in care delivery, education, and research. The institution serves as the primary teaching affiliate of one of the nation's oldest private medical schools, providing a rich educational environment.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers comprehensive tertiary care, employing a diverse team of 30 physicians, 10 nurse practitioners, and a variety of supporting staff, including 24 residents and 6 fellows specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Urogynecology. With over 2,500 deliveries annually, our department manages a wide range of complex maternal and fetal conditions. Our outpatient clinic is robust, accommodating over 18,000 visits each year, and our surgical practice performs more than 2,000 gynecological procedures annually.
We are looking for candidates who possess a wealth of experience, a commitment to education and research, and a passion for women's health. Ideal candidates will have expertise in minimally invasive gynecological techniques, including laparoscopy, robotic-assisted surgery, and hysteroscopy, with a focus on pelvic pain management. Strong clinical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team are essential.
The selected physician will deliver minimally invasive gynecologic surgical services within the Albany Medical Center Faculty Physician Group, including participation in call coverage. Engagement in the education and training of medical students and residents, as well as involvement in research initiatives, is expected.
Faculty rank will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
Minimum qualifications include:
- MD/DO degree from an accredited medical institution and eligibility for a New York Medical License.
- Completion of a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship.
- Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The salary range for this full-time position is competitive, with compensation reflective of experience. This role does not include incentive compensation or benefits.
