Cardiac Surgery Circulator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Surgery Circulator to join our team at Foundations for Living. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of cardiac surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team in managing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during cardiac surgical procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, and other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Coordinate with the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team to facilitate the smooth transition of patients from the operating room to the ICU following cardiac surgery.
- Provide support and assistance with patient positioning, draping, and preparation for surgery, as well as with wound closure and post-operative procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and medication administration.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and operational efficiency within the cardiac surgery department.
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience circulating in open-heart surgery.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
