Job Title: Patient Transport Associate

At Yale New Haven Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Transport Associate to join our team. As a Patient Transport Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients throughout our hospital and clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients safely and professionally to their destinations, adhering to established service standards and protocols.
  • Provide transfer assistance to nursing and patient care staff, following established SOPs and utilizing the correct standard precautions.
  • Maintain equipment, including stretchers and beds, to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Utilize the patient tracking system to identify and mark milestones events during patient transport.
  • Exhibit a professional, courteous, and positive demeanor at all times, adhering to hospital and department policies.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a high school graduate or GED.
  • A minimum of 1 year general experience in Customer Service (preferably Healthcare).
  • Computer experience helpful. Patient care experience preferred.
  • Data entry, enhanced telephone service skills, and ability to work effectively and respectfully with patients, physicians, co-workers, and departmental personnel.
Physical Demands:

The position requires extensive pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking, as well as the ability to lift 40 lbs and utilize proper body mechanics in moving and lifting patients and files.
