FSQA Technician Job Description

The FSQA Technician plays a critical role in our team-oriented FSQA process, ensuring the protection of our food products through sampling, testing, and documentation. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and quality objectives, as well as the ability to identify and report non-conformances and deviations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and implement food safety and quality objectives and policies.
  • Identify and report non-conforming raw materials, semi-finished, and finished foods.
  • Communicate human, food, and equipment safety concerns to supervision immediately.
  • Support the Hazard Analysis & Risk-Based Preventive Controls Food Safety Team in the development of an effective food safety plan.
  • Conduct sampling, testing, and documentation of the Integrated Management System (AIMS), including procedures and records.
  • Verify compliance with 21 CFR 117 Subpart B Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Prerequisite and Preventive Control Programs, and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Participate in pre-operational inspections with a cross-functional team.
  • Complete sensory, physical, and packaging evaluations on finished food and report results to bakery management.
  • Verify finished food case labels are accurate.
  • Basic understanding and verification of the bakeries QAP, including Quality Control Points monitored at prescribed frequencies.
Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required. Some college science courses or experience in the food industry is preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Outlook and Excel.
  • Good communication, writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with SAP.
