Job Summary

As a Senior Accountant at Comcast Corporation, you will play a critical role in preparing calculations and payments for the company. You will maintain work papers for prepaid and accrual accounts, as well as enter monthly journal entries. Additionally, you will assist with the internal and external audit process as needed.

Core Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze contracts and regulations to determine proper calculations of payments to regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure the accuracy of balance sheets and reconcile them to the general ledger, researching variances and making recommendations for adjustments.
  • Enter monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry.
  • Review financial statements for operating trends and results, researching variances to forecast and budget prior month and prior year.
  • Prepare financial reports, analyzing data for management review.
  • Research and develop automated Oracle routines, such as mass allocations and recurring journal entries.
  • Research ways to streamline and standardize processes to support the Accounting function.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required, with the ability to work nights and weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
