Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Fabrication Shop Manager, you will be expected to:
- Adhere to detailed instructions and perform diverse tasks that may vary frequently.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy in your work.
- Engage in repetitive tasks following established procedures.
- Assess information using measurable criteria.
- Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal items, utilizing knowledge of material properties and machining techniques.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery effectively, while interpreting blueprints and specifications to guide your work.
- Select appropriate materials, including various types of sheet metal.
- Employ nonmetallic materials as specified in project requirements.
- Mark dimensions and reference lines accurately on materials.
- Apply mathematical skills and layout techniques to create patterns for fabrication.
- Set up and operate machines for cutting, bending, and shaping materials.
- Finish surfaces using hand tools or portable power tools.
- Assemble products using various fastening methods.
- Install assemblies in accordance with blueprints.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on sheet metal products.
Additionally, you may utilize computer-aided design (CAD) tools to create detailed drawings and may operate plasma cutting equipment for precise cutting tasks.
