Position Overview:
This role requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain US Government security clearances. This is an on-site position.
As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Fire Protection Engineering Division, contributing to various projects for Government Agencies. Our team provides comprehensive engineering design services focused on Fire and Life Safety Engineering and Fire Protection System Design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze automatic suppression systems.
- Develop fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
- Conduct fire and life safety code analyses and egress evaluations.
- Perform smoke control design and special inspections.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections.
- Interpret and apply relevant NFPA Standards and International Building Codes.
- Prepare life safety and fire suppression drawings.
- Manage internal projects and address external client needs.
- Coordinate with multi-discipline design teams.
- Travel to construction sites as required.
In this role, you will work under the guidance of Parsons Site Personnel and the Fire Protection Engineering Manager, collaborating with other firms and Government personnel.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in fire protection engineering or consulting.
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Sciences, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Tennessee or ability to obtain it.
- Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
