As a Trailer Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of heavy-duty Class 7 - 8 trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trailers, dollies, and switchers.
- Diagnose and repair anti-lock brakes, wheel end components, electrical systems, brakes, body, and minor body work.
- Prepare vehicle records and reports manually and on a computer.
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Inspect and perform work on undercarriage components.
- Access all areas of equipment or vehicles to perform necessary maintenance.
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install parts on vehicles.
- Interact with clients through email and phone as necessary.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance or possession of an auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school.
- ASE Certifications preferred.
- Valid Driver's License - Class C.
- Commercial Driver's License class 'A' or 'B' preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and email.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it is operating properly.
- Ability to move and position heavy objects.
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing job duties.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
- Competitive hourly pay - up to $35 per hour.
- Monthly SRT Bonus - earning potential up to $15,000 annually.
- $250 New Hire Bonus.
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification acquired - up to $800.
