About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Sam's Club. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building highly performant distributed systems that will support our future growth.

You will be part of the Sam's Membership Team, working on projects that provide omni-channel support for millions of Sam's Club members. Your expertise will contribute to operational efficiencies for our business team members.

Sam's Club is our membership warehouse club, offering high-quality products at prices that are unrivaled by traditional retail. We provide a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads and collaborates on Engineering projects; identifies short- and long-term solutions and timeline; reviews and implements proposed solutions.
  • Implements new architectural patterns; performs design and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoots business and production issues; reviews and analyzes information; engages support teams; formulates action plan; performs root cause analysis.
  • Completes online documentation.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of extensive software development experience building distributed systems and Micro-Services.
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of Java Technologies, SQL/NOSQL Databases, Container Technologies.
  • Ability to build products with focus on automation.
  • A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
