Job Summary

The Imaging Coordinator at Intermountain Healthcare supports the manager in accomplishing the organization's mission by working with frontline caregivers to ensure optimal safety, quality, satisfaction, engagement, compliance, operations, staffing, processes, efficiency, training, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identities to ensure accuracy of records transferred to/from outside facilities.
  • Verify and track orders, including matching images with orders, placing images in proper order, reporting disbursement, and preparing call reports.
  • Assist patients as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of anatomy and exam types.
  • Maintain knowledge of HIPAA regulations and apply this knowledge appropriately.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with nursing, staff, and other patient care members and coworkers.
  • Assist coworkers in completing their duties to promote effective teamwork.
  • Take the initiative to solve problems, including equipment, maintenance, and staffing issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a comparable setting, required.

Physical Requirements

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require the employee to verbally communicate, hear, and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Ongoing need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment, and dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including items of varying weights, up to and including heavy, to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.

Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms, stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time, and push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
