About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Dowbuilt, a leading construction company specializing in high-end residential projects. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail on our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings to ensure accurate execution of work
  • Managing building layout and dimensional control to maintain high-quality standards
  • Establishing clear deadlines and communicating with the Foreman and Superintendent to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Preparing and executing daily work plans to meet project requirements
  • Collaborating with subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to fellow Carpenters, Apprentice Carpenters, and Laborers
  • Identifying and reporting unsafe practices to the Foreman or Superintendent
Requirements
  • Experience hanging doors and setting windows
  • Knowledge of waterproofing and flashing exterior doors and windows
  • Proficiency with builder's level and structural framing details
  • Knowledge of trim installation, including trim around doors, windows, base, base shoe, and crown molding
  • Familiarity with coping techniques for base & crown and scribing techniques for cabinetry & other trim work
  • The ability to mill materials to exact dimensions and cut tapers in trim boards
  • Familiarity with making jigs for routering door and cabinet hardware and cabinetry and casework installation
  • Full understanding and working knowledge of tools required to perform high-level carpentry
  • Crown molding install at various wall angles with coped or mitered joinery
  • Paneling fabrication and install and familiarity with some stair work including handrails and skirt boards
  • Satisfactory math skills figuring out angles and pitches for roofs, stairs and railings
  • Glue up joinery skills for shelving, table, or bench tops and familiarity with sharpening techniques for chisels and plane blades
  • U.S. work authorization
