Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at FPC National. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing subsystems for our nanosatellite bus and communications payload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design spacecraft bus and payload hardware, including single-board computers, FPGAs, SoCs, sensors, and RF components.
  • Circuit Board Design: Create and test circuit board schematics, select components, and develop board layouts.
  • Assembly and Testing: Assemble, test, and debug circuit boards; develop firmware and software.
  • Production and Documentation: Produce production-level tests and maintain technical documentation.
  • Design Reviews and Failure Analysis: Participate in design reviews and perform failure analyses.
  • Integration and Testing: Collaborate with mechanical engineers for integration, considering thermal requirements.
  • Payload Integration and Delivery: Support payload integration, testing, and delivery to launch partners.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years in circuit board design and development, including RF PCBs.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout; circuit simulation with LT Spice or similar.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with single-board computers, FPGAs, RF components, and antennas.
  • Electronic Test Equipment: Skilled with electronic test equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
  • Programming Skills: Experience with Linux systems and space payload hardware/software development.
  • Additional Skills: Programming skills in C++, C, Python, MATLAB, or similar; familiarity with FPGA programming (VHDL, Verilog) and Altera/Xilinx FPGAs is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.

This is a full-time in-person position at FPC National.
