Pharmacy Technician Specialist

The University of Miami is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our Specialty Pharmacy in Medley. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, restocking of drugs, and assisting with basic compounding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
  • Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
  • Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
  • Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands-on).
  • Participates in assigned training program and continuing education activities to attain competency in different technician duty areas.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • State of FL registration.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
