Medical Facilities of America is a premier provider of post-acute care services. We are seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist to join our team. The successful candidate will coordinate, manage, and implement the infection prevention and control program across all our facilities.
The Infection Preventionist will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator to develop and maintain effective infection prevention strategies. This will involve working directly with employees, patients, medical providers, and pharmacists to ensure compliance with all aspects of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and other federal and state guidelines for long-term care.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of standard methods and criteria for identifying health care associated infections using an approach that consists of surveillance, data collection, and trending for identification. A nurse with current RN or LPN License and Infection Control Practitioner Certification (CIC) is preferred.
We require at least 1+ year of experience in infection prevention control in an acute or post-acute care setting, preferably in skilled nursing/long term care environment. Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control for long-term care is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication skills, be able to proactively team build and develop positive working relationships at all levels of the organization, and possess the ability to interact proactively with culturally diverse employee and patient populations.
Responsibilities
