Job Summary

East Penn Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated regional CDL-B driver to join our team. As a Class B Route Driver with Hazmat Endorsement, you will be responsible for various warehouse material handling duties and some delivery and pick-ups at off-site locations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and pick up freight from specified locations, such as warehouses, stores, industrial plants, railroad yards, and small businesses.
  • Verify freight with shipping papers.
  • Drive to specified locations, applying knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, state and local driving laws, and hazardous material regulations.
  • Use skills in highway navigation as well as maneuvering a vehicle in various situations, such as narrow passageways, heavy traffic, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Inspect the vehicle for mechanical and safety defects before and after each trip, and submit a report indicating the vehicle condition.
  • Maintain a Driver's Daily log according to Federal regulations.
  • Prepare shipping papers for freight received.
  • Interact with customers when delivering or receiving freight or collecting payment for goods delivered.
  • Warehouse work using material handling equipment.
Requirements
  • Class B Commercial Driver's License with Endorsements for Air Brakes and Hazmat (endorsements not required prior to employment but obtainment required during probationary period) Training provided.
  • Literate with good communication and math skills.
