About the Role

The Army National Guard is seeking highly skilled individuals to fill the position of Fire Control Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in integrating and processing information from multiple users, utilizing the JOINT system and other automated systems used by the Army National Guard.

Job Overview

As a Fire Control Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to operate communications systems, primary tactical data system operations, database management, and fire mission processing. You will also be responsible for computing target locations, operating gun, missile, and rocket systems, and artillery tactics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate communications systems to facilitate information exchange between users.
  • Primary tactical data system operations to support real-time decision-making.
  • Database management to ensure accurate and efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Fire mission processing to coordinate and execute fire missions.
  • Compute target locations using advanced technology and techniques.
  • Operate gun, missile, and rocket systems to support military operations.
  • Develop and apply artillery tactics to achieve strategic objectives.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals who possess a strong interest in cannon and rocket operations, are physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure, and are able to multitask and work effectively as a team member. Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career in computer programming or telecommunication.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change. However, with the Army National Guard, you will have the opportunity to earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance, making this a rewarding and financially stable career choice.

Requirements

  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
