Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) to join our client's team. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced nursing knowledge and clinical judgment to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Engage in collaborative partnerships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal care delivery.
- Deliver culturally competent and age-appropriate care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the American Nursing Association (ANA) and comply with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
The Surgical Intensive Care Unit is a specialized 12-bed facility that caters to a diverse patient population, including those recovering from various surgical procedures. Our nurses receive comprehensive training, including NIH Stroke Scale Certification and continuous EEG setup, to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to provide patient care that is sensitive to age and cultural diversity.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and competence.
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a diverse environment.
- Current Ohio RN License or Compact.
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Diploma in Nursing is mandatory.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Experience in Neuro/ICU settings.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
This is a contract position requiring 36 hours per week, with shifts of 12 hours during nights and every other weekend.
