Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse, adhering to the ANA scope of practice, employs the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care. This includes integrating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and facilitate discharge. The RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, in accordance with established policies and procedures, while acknowledging the influence of nursing care and patient/family collaboration on health outcomes. The RN collaborates with patients and families to incorporate their input and objectives into the care plan and develops educational strategies for patients and families, ensuring proper documentation of education and learning in the health record.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required within 5 years for new graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience.
  • Graduates from non-accredited nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX exam.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire/transfer.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer; TNCC within 1 year; ENPC within 15 months.
  • Specialty certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
  • Previous RN experience is preferred, but new graduates may be considered.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, with night shifts scheduled. Weekly hours are 36, with shifts running from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and varying days of work, including every other weekend.
