Janitorial Assistant

The Janitorial Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Holland Civic Center. This includes cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, public areas, and guest seating, as well as performing general field clean-up and monitoring for spills. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors
- Clean and maintain all public areas, including guest seating
- Perform general field clean-up and monitor for spills
- Remove trash and recycling during events and prepare bins for daily pick-up
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
Requirements:
- Housekeeping/janitorial/porter experience preferred
- High school diploma/GED required or working towards it
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision
- Capacity to take direction and follow through
- Strong attention to detail
Working Conditions:
- Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Ability to navigate around the facility for long periods of time
