Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist I plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires the ability to perform radiographic examinations independently, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Conducts radiographic examinations by accurately positioning patients and utilizing appropriate immobilization techniques, while selecting the correct technical factors tailored to each patient's unique requirements.
  • Radiation Safety: Implements measures to restrict radiation exposure to non-targeted areas of the patient using collimation and other devices.
  • Portable Imaging: Executes portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms and emergency departments.
  • Film Identification: Ensures accurate identification of patient films, marking them correctly with necessary details.
  • Film Processing: Develops exposed x-ray films using established processing techniques.
  • Administrative Duties: Manages patient requisitions, including documentation of technologist initials, date, film size, and other pertinent information.
  • Room Maintenance: Maintains a clean and organized x-ray room in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Contrast Media Preparation: Prepares and assists in the administration of radiopaque contrast media as directed by the physician.
  • Patient Interaction: Provides assistance to patients based on their individual needs, ensuring comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling at least 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Identifies and addresses the specific needs of diverse patient populations, adapting communication and care approaches accordingly.
  • Compliance: Adheres to established standards and competencies as outlined by the Medical Center.

Experience in operating rooms is preferred.
