Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team at Tom Bell Chevrolet. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

• Payroll Data Management
  • Compile and verify payroll data from time sheets and other records.
  • Update master payroll records to reflect changes in employee compensation, benefits, and tax withholdings.
• Payroll Processing
  • Process payroll calculations and report injuries for Workers' Compensation purposes.
  • Submit and balance 401(k) payments, process loans, and assist with annual audits.
• Employee Support
  • Handle unemployment claims and monitor time cards for discrepancies.
  • Prepare and issue paychecks, and maintain records of leave pay and non-taxable wages.
• Reporting and Compliance
  • Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • Filing all hiring and termination paperwork, including COBRA letters.
• Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate records of employee vacations and sick-day eligibility.
  • Process employee insurance forms and payments in coordination with the office manager.

• Automotive Experience
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry is required.
• Payroll Experience
  • Previous payroll experience is required.
• Skills and Qualifications
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret employment law and general HR policies.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Computer-literate and able to learn company software.
