This role involves working as a Bariatric Dietitian, focusing on educating patients with diverse nutritional requirements, including those related to bariatric and metabolic health.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
- Develop and deliver ongoing nutrition education programs for outpatients participating in a medical and surgical bariatric initiative.
- Act as a communication bridge between the consulting physician and healthcare staff regarding the nutritional education of patients.
- Engage in interdisciplinary discussions concerning patient status and care plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess patient care needs and contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of comprehensive care for patients and their families.
- Conduct educational sessions for patients and individual consultations, including follow-up support.
- Manage phone inquiries as needed.
- Provide coverage for other dietary team members when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge through continuing education in nutritional care, diabetes management, and related programs.
- Support hospital staff education and development initiatives, including continuing education and in-service training, as well as other patient education efforts.
- Facilitate teaching sessions for patients and their families.
Community Engagement:
Participate in community education events to enhance awareness of nutritional health.
Qualifications:
Registered and licensed dietitian.
