Position Overview:
As a pivotal member of our healthcare team, the Clinical Nurse Educator will be responsible for implementing educational programs tailored to specific specialties, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and the needs of our nursing staff. This role focuses on enhancing the competencies of frontline healthcare providers through a variety of instructional methods, including hands-on support and timely educational interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the rollout and ensure the effective adoption of organizational initiatives within designated specialty areas.
- Provide targeted educational resources and training sessions that address the unique requirements of specialty nursing, including real-time support and coaching for staff on assigned units.
- Collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to assess educational needs and drive desired outcomes across the organization.
- Offer feedback on specialty practices to support the development of clinical best practices and optimize electronic health record usage.
- Assist in the onboarding process for specialty staff, focusing on clinical performance and documentation standards. Participate in relevant committees to represent the specialty area.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the educational mission of the organization.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of recent clinical nursing experience in a specialty area such as perinatal, critical care, emergency, perioperative, or medical-surgical is preferred.
- Experience in educational roles is preferred.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records software is required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Life Support certification relevant to the specialty area is required.
- Certification in the specialty area is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
