Job Summary:
The Phlebotomy Specialist/Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for processing and collecting various clinical specimens, including centrifugation and distribution to the appropriate area. This role requires assessing specimens for quality and appropriateness during the pre-analytical process and preparing samples for loading on analyzers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process clinical specimens, including blood and other bodily fluids
- Assess specimens for quality and appropriateness, ensuring they meet laboratory standards
- Prepare samples for loading on analyzers, ensuring accurate and timely results
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare staff
- Collaborate with laboratory team members to ensure smooth laboratory operations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Medical experience, preferably in a laboratory setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer applications, including MS Office and EMR
- Detail-oriented, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
