Responsibilities


The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The Registered Nurse also provides direction and support for patient and family education while overseeing the activities of other nursing staff, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards.

This role requires the ability to respond swiftly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses. A safe environment for patients and visitors is paramount.

Utilizing the chain of command is essential to guarantee patient well-being and the appropriateness of care for neonates from post-delivery stabilization through discharge.

In the NICU, the Registered Nurse delivers direct patient care within their scope of practice, providing essential support to neonates.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintenance of certification.
  • NRP (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintenance of certification.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting, particularly in a nursery or NICU environment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
