Job Title: CT Technologist

Job Summary:

The CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' internal structures. The role involves interacting with patients, positioning them correctly, administering contrast agents when needed, and ensuring accurate image acquisition for the radiologist to interpret.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CT equipment to produce images of various anatomical structures, ensuring optimal image quality and clarity for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Greet and prepare patients for procedures by explaining the CT process, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety during the scan.
  • Prepare and administer IV contrast agents as per protocol, monitor patient reactions, and take necessary actions in case of adverse effects.
  • Verify the quality of CT images, ensuring all necessary views are captured. Transfer images to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) for interpretation by the radiologist.
  • Perform regular checks and preventive maintenance on CT equipment. Report any malfunctions or required repairs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure radiation protection protocols are strictly followed for patients, staff, and self, maintaining compliance with safety standards.
  • Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any relevant details in the patients medical record.
  • Work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, HIPAA).

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (ARRT-R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
  • Valid state license for Radiologic Technology (if required by state). BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a CT Tech is preferred.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a hospital or imaging center environment. Requires standing for long periods, moving patients, and handling medical equipment. Potential exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.

Shift/Hours:

Full-time, part-time, and per-diem positions available. May require day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
