Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is a vital healthcare professional responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care.

This role is based on-site in Tucson Clinic and requires bilingual Spanish/English skills (written and spoken). The Medical Assistant will work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and outpatient care centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with patients and others.
  • Promote collaboration within the facility to improve patient access and outcomes.
  • Assist with orientation and training of new team members.
  • Ensure patient flowsheet/check-out sheet is completed for each patient visit.
  • Conduct fibroscans and implement provider orders promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain documentation of patient care services and procedures.
  • Assist with 340B medication prior authorization and educate patients on medications and directions for use.
  • Provide effective communication between patients and medical staff.
  • Clean and prepare rooms between procedures and restock supplies.
Requirements
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary.
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
Education/Training Required
  • Degree/Certification in Medical Assisting.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of e-Clinical Works (eCW) or EHR system experience preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of Front and Back office MA experience required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (written and spoken) required.
