**Overview of ResCare Community Living**
At BrightSpring Health Services, our company has been providing support to individuals with disabilities for four decades. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including community living, adult host homes, behavioral health support, in-home pharmacy solutions, and more.
**Essential Responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional**
We are seeking compassionate caregivers to provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you will perform personal care tasks, including assistance with basic hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. You will also ensure client safety, maintain a safe environment, and foster positive relationships between individuals served.
**Responsibilities Include:**
- Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation
- Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
- Assisting with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs
- Reminding/assisting clients with self-administration of medications (with proper training)
- Encouraging self-help activities
**Qualifications and Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you must have a high school degree or equivalent, be 18 years of age or older, and have a valid driver's license (in most cases). You should also be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and handle physical aspects of the job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
**Salary Information**
The estimated hourly salary for this position is $17.00-$17.60 USD per hour, depending on location and experience. This is a full-time position, and we offer a competitive benefits package to our employees.
