POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Main Kitchen Pastry Chef, your role will be pivotal in ensuring an exceptional guest experience through your culinary expertise. You will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries and baked goods that delight guests from diverse backgrounds. Collaboration with front-of-house staff will be essential in this position.

COMPENSATION: $21.40

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare a variety of dishes while adhering to recipes and yield guidelines.
  • Assist in the decoration of cakes and pastries.
  • Maintain comprehensive menu knowledge and focus on detail in plate presentation.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of your designated work areas.
  • Process all requisitions accurately and place items in their designated locations.
  • Label and date products appropriately to ensure safety and sanitation.
  • Set up and dismantle your work station efficiently.
  • Regularly replenish kitchen supplies and food items necessary for service.
  • Communicate effectively with management, chefs, and service staff to address any guest or employee needs.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Comfortable working in a restaurant kitchen and proficient with culinary tools and equipment.
  • Takes pride in their work, ensuring a safe environment and adherence to health standards.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
  • Available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience in a similar hospitality environment.
  • Ability to create a wide range of baked goods, including pastries and specialty items.
  • Familiarity with weights and measures.
  • Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to engage with all business contacts.
