Job Overview

This role requires a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives. The role involves assisting with complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs. The professional also redirects behaviors with various activities including walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement daily routines for clients based on their individual program plans.
  • Provide physical assistance with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Prepare and serve meals, and assist with cleaning up afterwards.
  • Transport clients in company vans between their homes and facilities (if necessary).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR, first aid, CPI, and DSP 1 certification required.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance required.
