Midland Recruiters is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Specialist for our client in the automotive industry.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled professional with experience in injection molding to join our team as a Manufacturing Operations Specialist. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing process, including start-up and shutdown of equipment, mold changes, and material handling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Start-up and shutdown of molding equipment according to procedures.
  • Change molds in 500 to 1500Tm injection molding machines in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Ensure proper electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic connections for molds.
  • Change robot end-of-arm tooling and resolve robot issues.
  • Verify product conformity to quality standards upon start-up and during production.
  • Perform machine and robot functions related to changeovers.
  • Document all molding set-up and support recording of downtime.
  • Prepare molds and/or fixtures for storage at the completion of a production run.
  • Notify manufacturing supervisors and/or maintenance teams of downtime issues.
  • Tag tools/fixtures according to the tool repair and maintenance work order procedure.
  • Maintain open communication with manufacturing supervisors regarding recurring problems in the production area.
  • Troubleshoot process-related concerns while adhering to setup documentation to maintain consistent quality and production requirements.
  • Identify product or process defects in molding and assembly.
  • Perform duties as an operator, material handler, or backup manufacturing supervisor when requested by maintenance engineers or manufacturing supervisors.
  • Provide guidance and direction to production employees on work assignments.
  • Practice good housekeeping techniques in maintaining clean, organized, safe, and hazard-free areas of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, preferably with vocational education training in skilled trades or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with injection molding machine setup and processing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Must complete new employee orientation and quality systems overview training, as well as any additional training identified by department management.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and present alternative solutions to correct problems.
  • Capacity to make informed decisions to satisfy internal and external customers.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
