Furniture Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Furniture Engineer to join our team in developing innovative baby/kids furniture products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design teams to conceptualize and create new baby/kids furniture pieces.
- Develop detailed product specifications, considering safety standards, materials, and construction methods.
- Ensure that technical specifications given to our furniture vendors contain detailed technical guidance in all key production areas.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners and overseas teams to assess high-risk standards and resolve any engineering-related issues.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize existing products for improved performance, costing, construction, and customer satisfaction.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market demands, and technological advancements in kids' furniture design.
- Travel as needed for visiting manufacturers to review products and foster supplier relationships.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years in furniture technical development and/or engineering.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and furniture construction techniques.
- Solid understanding of residential and contract furniture technical design, construction, and finishing.
- Experience with drafting and 3D modeling (SolidWorks a plus).
- Understanding of furniture packaging is a plus.
