We are seeking a highly skilled Sushi Cook to join our team at Peppermill & Western Village. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality sushi and leading our kitchen staff to deliver exceptional cuisine.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and prepare high-quality food products for our outlet, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Lead by example, emphasizing effective communication and teamwork skills to drive success in our kitchen.
- Collaborate with our Sushi Master Cook and Chef de Cuisine to maintain proper inventory control, quality of purchased goods, and par stocks.
- Work closely with upper management to develop menus, specials, and future plans for our sushi area.
- Ensure all kitchen staff maintain the highest levels of professionalism, adhering to our dress code and safety standards.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report any issues to Engineering and upper management promptly.
- Implement creative menus and strive for excellence, aiming to be one of the best restaurants in Northern Nevada.
- Follow all sanitation procedures, maintaining the highest degree of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen.
- Support our company culture's expectation of delivering 4-diamond service.
- Adhere to all departmental and company policies, including attendance and appearance policies and the code of conduct.
- Four or more years of experience in high-volume hotel restaurant/casino outlets or individual restaurants, particularly in sushi or similar cuisine.
- Familiarity with all aspects of sushi cuisine and high-volume food production.
- Culinary background with an emphasis on quality cuisine and high-volume production.
- High school graduate or GED, or culinary apprenticeship or school graduate (preferred).
- Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel (preferred).
- Background in pre- and post-opening of hotel/casinos or major restaurants (preferred).
