This role serves as the key sales representative at the store level for major clients such as grocery chains, focusing on enhancing service and expanding business within designated accounts.

The representative is responsible for ordering products that will be delivered by other staff members to the store. Sales are generated through direct engagement with customers and ensuring their needs are met. The position involves rotating and stocking products on shelves, displays, coolers, and in backrooms of customer locations. The representative will also construct displays and set up promotional materials like pricing signs and banners, maintaining regular interaction with store management.

This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift, load, push, and pull cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly over a 10-12 hour work period.

Responsibilities include bending, reaching, and squatting while merchandising and moving products. Weekend and holiday work may be necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Increase sales volume, market presence, product distribution, shelf space, and customer satisfaction in all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain product inventory to established standards.
  • Conduct inventory checks and place orders for future stock.
  • Seek new business opportunities to boost sales and expand product distribution within the assigned territory.
  • Promote and execute marketing initiatives, arrange for equipment placement, and ensure adequate product inventory.
  • Leverage point-of-purchase materials to drive sales.
  • Identify selling opportunities by enhancing shelf visibility, cleaning displays, and rotating stock.
  • Deliver exceptional service to assigned accounts, fostering and maintaining positive relationships with all customers (e.g., effective communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, etc.).
  • Organize product sections and create displays to enhance sales.
  • Complete documentation accurately, legibly, and promptly.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management, potentially including warehouse support.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance is essential.
    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Personal transportation is required to access multiple store locations during assigned shifts.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are necessary.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with consumer products (e.g., various product types, packaging, sizes, etc.).
  • Background in the beverage sector (e.g., market segments, customer types, competitors, trends, etc.).
  • Experience with power equipment (e.g., lift jacks, power jacks, u-boats, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Proficiency with handheld devices (e.g., mobile technology, etc.).
  • Knowledge of inventory management (e.g., current stock levels, sales projections, ordering/restocking, etc.).
  • Experience in business-to-business sales (e.g., making sales calls, building customer relationships, addressing customer concerns, etc.).
  • Skills in merchandising (e.g., standards, planograms, product displays, stocking/rotating products, back-room organization, etc.).
  • Experience managing incorrect orders (e.g., resolving order discrepancies, managing out-of-stock situations, etc.).
  • Ability to perform financial and mathematical calculations (e.g., calculating profit margins, determining display sizes, etc.).
  • Experience managing a sales route (e.g., prioritizing stops, scheduling, servicing accounts, managing delivery windows, etc.).
  • Skills in incremental selling (e.g., upselling, suggesting additional products, etc.).
  • Adherence to safety protocols (e.g., proper lifting techniques, following safety procedures, etc.).
