Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. As a travel MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI machines to create detailed images of the inside of patients' bodies, used by doctors to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:">
    • ">
    • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure appropriate MRI procedure.">
    • Explain MRI procedure to patients, addressing questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.">
    • Complete necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information.">
    • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety.">

  • Conducting MRI Scans:">
    • ">
    • Operate MRI machine, adjusting settings to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by physicians.">
    • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring comfort and alignment.">
    • Administer contrast agents as prescribed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.">
    • Ensure patient remains still during scan to obtain clear images.">

  • Patient Safety and Comfort:">
    • ">
    • Ensure patient safety during MRI procedure, especially concerning strong magnetic fields.">
    • Inform patients during scan, providing reassurance and instructions as needed.">
    • Monitor patient condition, including vital signs, during scan.">
    • Ensure proper patient positioning to avoid injuries or discomfort.">
    ">
  • Post-Procedure Care:">
    • ">
    • Assist patients off MRI table after procedure and ensure stability and comfort.">
    • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments and aftercare.">
    • Address any immediate concerns or side effects patients may experience.">
    ">
  • Maintenance and Equipment Care:">
    • ">
    • Ensure MRI machine is regularly calibrated and functioning correctly.">
    • Clean and disinfect MRI suite and equipment between patients.">
    • Monitor equipment performance, identify malfunctions, and alert staff for repairs.">
    ">
  • Collaboration with Medical Team:">
    • ">
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure correct images are obtained.">
    • Work with other healthcare professionals to review images and discuss patient conditions.">
    • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure final images meet diagnostic standards.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in operating MRI machines and handling contrast agents.">
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients and medical staff.">
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.">
  • Current licensure and certification as an MRI technologist.">

Compensation:

">

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on a 10-hour shift schedule and 40 hours per week. A tax-free stipend will be provided, which will be determined separately.
